DIAMONDS
From January of this year, GIA started issuing certificates for Created Diamonds that read “Laboratory Grown Diamond,” as well as grading them on naturally occurring diamonds’ scale: VS, SI, etc. This is not a sudden change of heart by the mighty trend-setter from old “Synthetic Diamond” certificates. Gemologists, finally, accepted, that the diamonds we grow are not “synthetic.” Word “synthetic” is derived from word “synthesis.” Synthesis (from the ancient Greek σύνθεσις σύν (with) and θεσις (placing), is commonly understood to be an integration of two or more pre-existing elements which results in a new creation. Our diamonds are grown from only one element, the same element that diamonds found in nature are made - carbon. Our process changes molecular structure of carbon, but does not produce synthesis, hence our stones are not “synthetic.” It is exactly same as when you buy flowers, you care if they appeal to you, not if they are grown in a greenhouse or in the forest, the result is the same - natural flower and, most probably, closer to perfection than its wild counterpart, due to years of selection and research.

We continue to increase production of Colombian Color Created Emeralds, the only type of product on the market that has characteristics and color of genuine emeralds, mined in Colombia. To attest to this claim, we can reference a recent research in British Gem Society's “Journal of Gemmology,” May 2006, “A new type of Tairus hydrothermally-grown emerald,” published by foremost authorities, Dr Karl Schmetzer, Dr Dietmar Schwarz, Dr Heinz-Jürgen Bernhardt and Dr Tobias Häge, noted: “The gemmological properties [of new type of Tairus’ emeralds] overlap
those of natural emeralds from various localities, especially those of low alkali-bearing samples from Colombia,” hence confirming legitimacy of the name “Colombian color” in our new product.
Larger stones with natural-looking inclusions are very popular and during the recent Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair in September we sold-out all the stones that we prepared for exhibition.
